I’m bumping this up to ask about everyone’s experiences with the pop-ups recently. I’d like to pull my ad-blocker from COTH, but not so that my browser can be run over by a pop-up truck.

I think they must be gone. I have AdBlocker on my PC, but nothing like that worked on the iPad, and my iPad has been free of pop-ups since the overhaul of the forums. So I think you are safe! I think you can opt to not block ads on COTH but still block them elsewhere, so maybe try that and see how it works out. Easy enough to go back if needed.
