Thank you I’m not quite sure why I didn’t think of that before.
I just emailed them. Their drop nose snaffle bridle is stunning. Waiting for a reply. Thank you so much!!
Solo Equine now has one… he is really good at replying
there really isnt a difference between a dressage bridle and a hunter bridle, it is simply a bridle
Cranks and dropped nose-bands are neither required nor necessary . People slap them on, often just as a convention
Have some great high-end bridles but I LOVE my Schneider’s Joseph Sterling dressage bridles. I have the petite due to my horses’ head size, but it’s an AWESOME bridle and flash tucks into cavesson. Haven’t tried Eponia, but have tried some others mentioned here and some with $300+ price tags, and again, hands down the Schneider’s is the best.
Can’t comment on the quality but Smartpak offers one. https://www.smartpakequine.com/pt/harwich-bling-dressage-bridle-by-smartpak--14446
i have a Kieffer that doesn’t have a flash but I don’t think it’s made anymore

Very conservative, classic style. No crank no flash. It’s monocrown, whether that’s a plus or minus for you. I liked the old 2 strap style personally, fewer buckles, but this was the nicest leather and came with quality leather reins.
On a budget, Bobby’s is nice soft leather - no imported chemical tanned crap - and very conservative styling except for the “comfort” crown which is shaped. Just cut off the flash. Only problem - if your horse’s ears aren’t where the clearance notches are, the curve will dig into their ears instead of avoiding them. But you can also buy a different sized crown a la carte.
Maybe this has been answered but it’s easy to take a couple of stitches out, resew and remove the piece that holds the flash.
I thought you wanted a traditional dressage bridle no flash? This looks like a Micklem spin-off, or from a distance someone could mistake it for a gag, which even if you aren’t showing doesn’t make a great impression. Plus it has a flash of sorts. In no way does it look more comfortable for the horse than a properly (2-3 fingers) fitted cavesson. It looks like it would make the bit rub and lie funny.
Regarding Eponia, I have one of their bridles (The Frost Bridle) and it is a very nice bridle. However the customer service is lacking, so I wouldn’t do business with them again. I wanted to have their patent noseband that goes with the Frost Bridle in Cob size. I have the bridle and current noseband in WB. I inquired with them via email for dimensions on their cob noseband and when it would be back in stock. They didn’t answer the latter and sent me measurements for their monocrown noseband (the Frost is not a monocrown). I explained this to them and received no reply. I called and they couldn’t answer my question and never called back. I contacted them on FB with no reply. I have tried American and Europe contacts for them. I don’t know what their deal is. The noseband has been out of stock for almost a year and they can’t provide any info.
I can/will by a different brand noseband, but I quite liked theirs. Many of the Cobs are too small and the WB’s too big so it is important to me to have measurements or a good return policy.
It’s too bad because you can easily remove the flash attachment from their bridles with the way they have it set up and it wasn’t a bad piece of tack.
Thank you for your insight. I couldn’t tell but it looked interesting. But I take your comments to heart and think you are right. Thanks!
I second the KB Albion line- they are lovely. Not a flash in sight!
I know this is an older thread but Collegiate makes a black, monocrown, plain cavesson Dressage bridle. It sells for $110. It has no flash or crank and it’s nicely padded. My horse goes well in it.
So what did you buy?
A friend sold me her Red Barn bridle, I believe it’s a Travers. I splurged on the plain cavesson as the crank was too much for my young guy and too much for me to buckle with my goofy hands. Lovely bridle.
