As a kid, I rode many ponies like that. When you only had one pony to ride at that time, you learned pretty quickly how to stay on, whether it was me on my Shetland ponies and all they had to do was stick their heads down to eat grass or my green to English pony that I taught to jump. We started out with cross rails, and she would stop at them. Eventually, I got her up to 2.9 feet, and on occasions, she would test my seat by just stopping at the smallest jump. After two years of hard work, she would jump to the moon for me.
