Pray for me

Congratulations! You should be feeling darn proud of yourself right now.

Oh golly, you brought up preparing for the 7. A period of my life I wish I could banish from my memory forever. The only advice I can give you is that it’s a lot like learning to be an effective rider: there’s no quick trick, it just takes a lot of work and many hours of practice.

Yes, it is hard. However, I passed which is proof positive that ANYONE can. It just takes an awful lot of studying. I don’t remember exactly, but I think the test preparers recommended (back when I took it) that you study for 150 - 180 hours for that test. Groan! And you really do need to study a LOT. However, if you do the work, you will pass.

I took a test prep class at the company I was working for at the time. It helped a lot, and I’d recommend a good, structured study program if you can find one. Also, practice tests are a MUST. The questions can be confusing at first, but you do get used to their style after a while and can figure out what they’re looking for.

Wow this post is getting long. Bottom line is you don’t have to be a genious (or even close) to pass the 7. You just need to be dedicated and work hard.

Tomorrow at 1:30 EST I have to take the Series 63 - State Securities Licensing Exam.

The future of my job, place of residence, mental/physical health and schedule for the rest of the show season depends on it.

I have been studying like mad, but finance to a me is like proper English to Dubya - the two just don’t mix.

If I don’t pass, I might as well give the horse away, go home and live with Dad - and renew my status as Drive-Thru Queen and the McDonalds in Waterloo, VA.

Happy thoughts for VTrider please

Hugs and kisses to all.

Praying to all the gods for VT, just to cover our bases. The last time I had to take a test like that it was the Real Estate Exam for the Virgin Islands. I was only 22 and the exam was a bit different from what you would see in the states. I did study like mad, and thankfully I am a good test taker. My problem?

When I finished I handed it in and walked out. I had gone over my answers three times, what more could I do? I was the first person to walk out of that room. I guess the examiner noted that. Next thing you know the broker I worked started getting phone calls from the examining board, strange calls, questioning everything from my intelligence to my honesty. He never told me about this till much later. The results came and I passed. My broker took me out for a celebratory glass of champagne and told me not only was I the youngest to get my license in the USVI but I had the scored higher than anyone else that year. Because the proctor had noted that I had turned my test in so quickly she suspected that I might have cheated somehow!

I’m sure you’ll do fine. As soon as you get that test scan through the whole thing and answer all of the questions your sure of first, then you’ll have more time for the iffy ones. And usually your first hunch is correct in multiple choice stuff. Math things should be checked over and over, silly mistakes can cost you in those tests.

Rumor has it that she will be wearing her new chaps to take the test in.

Yeah Yeah Yeah! She’s headed out to ride her brilliant steed, then to my house for dinner later.

I don’t think she’d go along with that second paragraph, SU!!!

Yes VT, now you too are aware of the the Glass Steagall Act and it’s impact on investment banking. Aren’t you thrilled?

Hope the exam goes well. I am sure it will be a great relief to get it over with - successfully of course!!

I am sure you’ll do fine.

Good luck anyway, just in case!

You’ll do just fine, VTrider! But, just for added insurance, I will keep my thought very positive for you all day tomorrow!

Many thanks for all of your well-wishes - I could feel your forces on my side as I sat at my terminal LOL!

I needed a 70% to pass, let’s just say… uhhhmmmm …I passed LOLOL!

It was so dang hard guys - big words I had never seen in my entire life!!!

Trooper, next for me is the Series 62, then the 7 - any luck with either?

Kryswyn - I thought of you when I got to one of the Blue Sky Law questions

Many thanks again everyone!!

And yes, I did wear my new half chaps (Milk Chocolate rough out color with tan lizard skin strip, tan and cream piping, initials on left half chap near top (cream diamond with initials in brown)) over my purple capri pants to the test

I do.

I’m getting ready to take my Series 7 in September <heave> which I’ve been avoiding all season.

Any advice to pass MY way, VTrider and Trooper… especially since you’ve already been there?

Just a thought…
KT

I know that you have prepared yourself and are ready to go. I’ll say a prayer for you that you remember the information in a way that is best suited to answer each and every question. Just remember to breath and pace yourself to answer the most possible.

I know you can do it!!!

Maria

Best of luck to you! I’m saying a prayer for you, but I bet you won’t even need it. You’ve studied. You’re determined. You’ll do just fine. I took the 7 about 2 years ago, found out my results right there, online (passed by the grace of god). Lemme tell ya, that is the LONGEST minute of your life. Go VTrider Go!

Hope VT’s having a power lunch! You go girl! You’ll be fine.

VT - I am soooooooooooo proud of you!

I hope she will understand how I couldn’t chance showing her nice horse and crashing him. I’ve had such a nice day recognizing, publicly, S.U.'s riding talents - I’m sorry she wasn’t here to share it

I have only taken the 63!!! The 7 is 2 more tests aways for me I will pray for you though!

C’mon all you posters on the Christian Equestrians thread - PRAAAYYYY for our VTRider!

Seriously, VTRIder - that’s a very difficult exam. Good luck! And bear in mind, many successful people in financial fields take it more than once before passing.

May the Force be with you!
