Oh golly, you brought up preparing for the 7. A period of my life I wish I could banish from my memory forever. The only advice I can give you is that it’s a lot like learning to be an effective rider: there’s no quick trick, it just takes a lot of work and many hours of practice.
Yes, it is hard. However, I passed which is proof positive that ANYONE can. It just takes an awful lot of studying. I don’t remember exactly, but I think the test preparers recommended (back when I took it) that you study for 150 - 180 hours for that test. Groan! And you really do need to study a LOT. However, if you do the work, you will pass.
I took a test prep class at the company I was working for at the time. It helped a lot, and I’d recommend a good, structured study program if you can find one. Also, practice tests are a MUST. The questions can be confusing at first, but you do get used to their style after a while and can figure out what they’re looking for.
Wow this post is getting long. Bottom line is you don’t have to be a genious (or even close) to pass the 7. You just need to be dedicated and work hard.
