Actually… you have to get permission to saddle in the inside paddock. All runners are preferred to saddle on the turf course

I’d forgotten how amazing both those horses were. If either one has gone down it could have been a disaster. But for them to stay on their feet and come in 1, 2 in the Preakness…

NBC first said they were denied permission and would have to be saddled on the turf course with the others. Confusing. Maybe they said barn when they meant paddock, but still wrong, they obviously got permission.
Please, no more Bruce-the-UFC-guy. Ever. That was painful.

I took it that they asked to saddle in the barn. (Never gonna be okayed other than for steeplechasing)
And got in the indoor paddock as the alternative and he was fine.

I stand corrected. Journalism was clearly the best horse.
On the replay it is hard to pin blame on one rider. I feel for Clever Again’s connections.

That was crazy! I can’t believe Journalism had that turn of foot at the end. He turned on the after burners and flew! Very happy that Sandman showed up and ran. The horse that almost won, geezus, he was a nose hair a way, I bet his owners are in shock. This race did not disappoint.
