I’ve noticed that while the mods seem to be closely watching what’s posted (some threads more than others obviously) that reasonable and polite mentions and discussions of politics where applicable have been allowed. Once it deteriorates into personal insults , name calling etc is when things get shut down.

What I’ve noticed is that there’s basically zero tolerance on weekends, and I think this got closed headed into the 4th. I’m guessing there’s a skeleton crew available on those days. Folks who probably don’t have the authority/credentials to make tough decisions about banning/suspending should something really hit the fan before the main Mod gets back.

Yes, when the safety and access to equal rights (including equal rights to employment) of a group is threatened and requires legal protection, it automatically becomes political.

I thought it did, or maybe it was a different thread about this same article. The post that seemed to trigger the close is no longer here either. No explanation was posted, it was just locked. But I remember thinking, similar to 2bayboys, that this is an article that COTH itself wrote, and we can’t discuss it?
