On a side note I wish there was a general website that listed any and all obstacle challenges, something like hunter paces have.
There is a website that lists all hunter paces?

I did an ACTHA ride once- that was more than enough to turn me off on them.
Now ECTRA and NATRC are totally different animals than ACTHA and neither of them allow boots other than hoofboots for their competitions.
I guess it depends on where you live and who runs them. I did three, all run by different organizations but all were fun and I’d go back to them in a heart beat.

Oh, that is for a certain part of the world. Not everywhere.
They clearly do not mean all of NY. Just the downstate part of NY.

Where did you hear this?
From a large facility that hosted several of their events.
I have tried yesterday and today to access the ACTHA site and it will not open.
Looks like the most recent discussions there indicate that the organization has gone missing…
They also took a lot of people’s money with them.
Doggone it! I had a lot of fun at the one ride I tried last year. Guess I will have to look at the new group.
A local barn had been hosting these the past two years, and a friend was very much involved. Such a shame.
I wouldn’t want to live in a World where there wasn’t HSUS.
For the new River Ranch Park north of Austin where I am the equestrian designer on the Arch/Eng team, I interviewed Karen Van Stetson, of Equine Trail Sports (EquineTrailSports.com) re requirements for competitive trail competitions in the park. She is just south of Austin, and seems to be the main person of ETS.
Is this the same as Equestrian Trail Sport ?
Not sure where you’re seeing equestrian trail sport? I’m only seeing Equine Trail Sports.

I could certainly live there.
As has been said, they’re PETA in business suits.

Article in May 2016 “Trailer rider” magazine says ACTHA got credit card scammed. As of Jan 1 2016, all staff was laid off due to lack of funds. Rides have been canceled as the organization restructures and regroups.
LOL. I find that hard to believe as I have not heard any ride manager who got hung out to dry saying that ACTHA called them and said they couldn’t pay because they got credit card scammed.
Wouldn’t an organization get on the phone and start letting people they owed money to know what was going on if that was the case?
How does an organization keep all their assets on credit cards?

I did hear that ACTHA tried to sue ETS.
