I bought a used pair, so they may have been stretched out a bit, but the AquaX felt a lot less structured to me and were a bit “saggy” everywhere. I probably could have been in my regular size in the AquaX or may be between sizes.
If you don’t like the silicone, the Tredstep Rosas are also nice. That was my first pair of full seats and I also loved those.
I haven’t tried them yet, but intend to. My daughter has the regular Pipers, and they look great on her. Me and my ADD are very sensitive to fabric textures & the cottony feel of the regular Pipers is not for me.
I agree. I tolerate them, but they aren’t my favorite.
My sister has a pair of the Hadleys. I have not tried them yet. I got the pipers off someone else’s suggestion at the same time my sister got the hadleys. If I would have known the texture of both before, I would have probably gone with the Hadleys as well.
I went to my more local, smaller tack shop and tried on a pair today! I really liked them! Thank you for the recommendation! Since I already bought a pair for 2 weeks from now, I decided to hold off on getting those and grabbed a beige pair of ariats for this weekends hunter show. Next white pair will be the Romfhs though. They fit so nicely.
I really appreciate everyone’s feedback on this. There are so many options out there it’s hard to narrow things down. This has been extremely helpful.
No problem! Happy they worked for you. Us long torso girls gotta stick together in a low-waisted world
I love Horze and show in the white Grand Prix silicon. But I think those are too dark.
Thanks tho!!
Came to this thread to talk about rust breeches. LOL.
I MISS THEM SO MUCH THEY ARE THE MAGIC COMBINATION OF HIDING DIRT/SPIT YET ALSO LIGHT ENOUGH. THEY ARE PERFECT.
If we were to vote on stuff, I’mma pick the conservative every time, except for I lurve rust breeches with a fiery passion and would joyfully never wear white breeches again.
Same here. And with a darker color, when they finally do get to too stained to wear to a show, they can step down into schooling breeches. No one, NO ONE, schools in stained up grey-used-to-be-white breeches.
But I have at least one friend who has dyed her stained whites…
Tried it and never had it go well. Always ended up with dark cloth and pastel leather.
I have swung out of my truck and my bum stayed… its quite the picture hanging out with arms flailing…
Hey now! My dirty whites are my XC schooling pants! Lol
I have a pair of white Golden Dress breeches that I totally love (as much as you can love white breeches), but of course they don’t make them anymore.
One thing I noticed when I was watching the NEDA spring show just last weekend was that the white breeches with different colored seats can really accentuate any imbalance or unevenness in your seat. So something to think about.
One thing I like about the idea of moving to a more athletic look over the jackets is that I wear an air vest when I ride (no need to judge - just talking about the look of it) and wearing it over a jacket is a really clumsy look. When I school and I wear the vest, there’s less of a disconnect in the look of it and the athletic shirt I have on under it.
I have not noticed this being an issue, but shouldn’t we be advising riders to work on their unevenness rather than wearing different breeches to try and disguise their issues?
Agreed, anytime I’ve seen someone wearing breeches with a colored seat, you really can’t even see the seat when they’re in the saddle, with or without a jacket.
Sure, while schooling, wear breeches with contrasting seats! But I would think while showing, it’s a bit different. Sorta like the “only wear white gloves if you have steady hands” saying.
Forget pants. I want a jacket like Edward Gal’s neo-clsssical 18th century cavalry officer jacket. No one would notice if I was even wearing pants at that point.
Eta: I’m not joking. I really do love the jacket. My teenaged daughter was horrified at my fashion sense; but that’s hardly anything new! Lol
Just jumping in here for the rust breeches fans. My hubby managed to find them. I couldn’t believe it when he pulled them out of the box that arrived a few weeks ago. Yep! They’re back . . . . and rustier then ever! You know if you can find them in men’s breeches, they must be available for us gals! He said they are Ovation brand
