Proposed Dress rule changes!

What i said is above. Originally i didn’t use the word “wouldn’t” and caught my mistake and edited …adding in the n’t. But not before another poster pounced. So my original before edit is there saying i would mind. Not the fact of the matter, that i wouldn’t mind.
(Clear as mud now?)

Ummm…they they didn’t pounce. They responded to what you wrote. It isn’t their fault you didn’t proof read. It isn’t their fault they happened to read it before you caught YOUR mistake. Don’t make it out to be their fault or like they were stalking you or trying to catch you in a mistake.

I read it as a typo because the context made it clear what she meant.

They no longer have that on the site. I’d be curious how it looked in the picture vs your picture. I do like how it looks on you though!

Still makes no sense to me … you said it never occurred to you to pay. I get that you wouldn’t mind paying but the question was why it never occurred to you

I read it not that she thinks her trainer is not deserving of payment, but that it never occurred to her that people bring trainers to shows with them in the first place. It took me years to realize that people bring trainers to shows with them, I was always a DIYer so I get it. Unless I totally don’t get it, in which case, please ignore me, lol.

I think it was the second part of the sentence, that was then edited, that implied that they were not willing to pay their trainer’s way.

because it never occured to me to bring or not bring my coach with me. Never thought i’d be traveling anywhere where she was not already there. so… do you understand now?

At recognized shows (USDF/USEF), you cannot be judged by someone who you have cliniced with or taken a lesson from within 30 days. There is no restriction on having been judged at a show by them.
Regarding paying a coach at a show, this is how I understand it:
At USDF/USEF recognized shows, required signatories include the rider, the owner, and the trainer. They may all be the same person, and all are responsible for the horse - such as, in case of a drug test. The fourth person, a “coach”, is not required to be filled in but is anyone you PAY to school you at the show… and, if listed, that person is also a responsible party. I know some trainers who accompany clients to shows but do not accept pay so they do not need to be listed as a coach - particularly if the horse is housed in the owner’s barn rather than the trainer’s barn. After all, who want to be responsible for a drug test for a horse NOT in your barn?

Yes - that makes much more sense, thanks.

Good, because I still don’t understand what is meant by “buying my coach’s trip-with.”

Oh my god! I’m soooo happy! I may burn my horrid white breeches. I don’t care what dark color it is; I’ll take it.

I’ve always thought a masochist decided that middle aged women should wear white on their butts. Heck I know some beautiful young slim teenagers that white breeches do not do any favors for… and let’s not even talk about period paranoia.

Sold on black/ dark color breeches… this may have made my year!

Does USDF allow white breeches with a black seat? that’s avoids some (but not all) of the issues many people have with plain white!

@conniemary yes black or dark grey seat is allowed with white breeches. And it does help some.

But I want slimming dark colors or black… no cellulite lumps… No trying on breeches and they look good and then in sunlight not so much. I just don’t want to think about it anymore!

I quite like the way most of us show up for clinics and think that would be acceptable. But for dark breeches I will happily put on my coat and get on with it all!

The answer is yes, although it is USEF that makes the rules, not USDF.

I appreciate that they’ve gone with “coordinating color” wording for boots and helmets in this proposed change; no more debating about non-black boot colors and whether or not they must match one’s jacket color.

Great. I’m not in the US, which is why I don’t know that, and why I didn’t know they allowed black seats…

White breeches have never been obligatory, they have always been a fashion.
