According to the email I just received, along with the rule books, the bit cradles ARE allowed for FEI level dressage and USEF/USDF Dressage. They are NOT allowed for USEA/USEF Eventing dressage.

You need that throat latch so your dressage competitors don’t come by, “Man From Snowy River” style and pull your bridle off your horse’s ears, as you are galloping madly chasing the Brumbies in your warmup.

I had a horse shake her bridle off once. The throat latch was too loose.
