put your weather rants here!

Crazy weather for us, were 14F yesterday morning, got to 63F in the afternoon, melted most of the snow, not all and was again 15F this morning and is still only 21F and supposed to snow a bit sometime today, then clear for the weekend and another cold and snow storm Monday-Wednesday.

It can’t make up it’s mind if it wants to be a bad winter or not, wishy-washy weather this.

We tend to get our worst blizzards in March-April, so we will have to see.

On my drive into work this morning my car thermometer hit -19F. That’s a personal record. Which sort of surprised me. I mean usually when I got out to get the paper, my nose hairs freeze at about -9 and that didn’t even happen today.

Today, we have frozen mud with a thin layer of ice on top. Yay.

We had 1" of snow last night, everything is white.

Winter keeps teasing us.

We really need a big dumping of snow.
That gives us moisture to make our summers.
We are afraid to ask, we may then get really dumped on more than we can handle at one time.

SAMESIES! So over winter!!

We’re havin’ a heat wave, a tropical heat wave…

The horrible cold finally broke Sunday evening and temps were above 0°F for the first time in two weeks. Yesterday, it was close to 20 and today, it is supposed to thaw a bit.

Easterners? Prepare for COLD. Down to -10F here last night, and must be moving YOUR way because it is getting warmer tomorrow. No snow, just CLEAR skies to see the lovely moon and stars last night, shining like beacons.j

Tractors did NOT start well, had to get the bobcat out to jump them both. Bobcat started RIGHT up which was quite the surprise, but maybe he is showing his appreciation for his new, enclosed shed to park inside! Only 1F at 10A, lucky no wind was blowing.

Better you than us to get and keep the cold! Got my new tank heater in the mail, will be swapping them out so tank is staying ice free again.

-19 in the western most tip of NY this morning. I think it’s already here

Ah, and it was in the 20’s here today. Balmy. Finally!

I’m so happy to be back home in Tennessee, but there are two things I miss about Texas:

• Riding in short sleeves in the winter (not all the time, but nice when it happens!)
• Lack of MUD! Slogged through boot-sucking mud today (and it’s not even that bad where I board) to get my horse who had mud caked all over his blanket and legs.

But, being back with my long-time horse friends…priceless and totally worth it!

I can’t even remember a time before The Mud. It is consuming us.

Flypony, you must have lived in a very different part of Texas than me.

That said, it’s suppose to hit 70 this weekend. I’m so excited.

It’s a beautiful hoar frost morning. We’re back up to 8* F and enjoying the heat wave. My car tires are round again and its shocks are working and life is lovely.
Sadly I won’t get to ride in this because it’s farrier day and I can’t sneak any more time than that from work
