'Rachel Alexandra': back to work in 2010

Cited before but to reiterate … today’s Woodward Stakes (Grade 1) is the 10th race on today’s Saratoga card. It is set to go off at 5:52 Eastern. On TV the coverage is:

TVG, HRTV, MSG+ are airing the race live. TVG has some affiliation (albeit limited added viewership) with ‘Prime Ticket’ and Fox Sports West; further there is a link (not all the time so maybe yes or no here with the Woodward) with Fox Sports Northwest, Fox Sports Ohio, SportSouth (formerly Turner South) and Sun Sports (Florida).

Additional the Horse Racing Radio Network will cover the race too. Through the HRRN on-line you will be able to hear the broadcast of the Woodward as it happens on your computer.

AS a matter of fact, they have yet to mention the race without mentioning her:yes:, it is now “the Woodward and Rachel Aleandra!”!

Damn fine race! As TVG said to do the 1st 1/4 mi in 22.2 and still win this race … amazing! Macho Again certainly made it a real race to the wire.

A huge constant roar from the packed track for her! Most deserving.

It wasn’t like Calvin didn’t ask for her to give it her all in the stretch - he went to the crop on the left and right - but she dug in.

It was a great race. Calvin did get to slow it down a little for the half-mile split.

I thought there was a bump in the stretch, just a bit, between Bullsbay(sp?) and Macho Again. Wondering if that hadn’t interrupted Macho Again just t-h-a-t much, if he would have won.

I didn’t have access to the race live but while watching the replay, even knowing she won, I found myself screaming! That was an exciting race and Macho Again was very game. :eek:
