Is some portion of the water draining in? Your roof slopes in such a way that the water all falls along the stall fronts, so I wonder how much of that is a factor. Rain gutters might help with that.

Then, what about a solid rather shallow awning like the following, except that the top would be a solid piece of plywood or roofing instead of slats?

Or even less expensive, cover the awning yourself with outdoor fabric:

Those are both great ideas but i think my dh is about done helping me with projects so i need a cheap diy myself idea lol. The rain literally blows in the stall bars but im going to at least put gutters on it. Jusg not sure when

If the rain is being blown in regularly, sounds like your shelter is facing the prevailing winds? In winter that’s going to be a problem. So something else you may want to do is break up the prevailing wind that is driving the rain in-- get a line of evergreens planted asap (look up on your county’s Extension website for tips on placement-- distance of a windbreak is really important to its function) as a windbreak. Of course it’s not a quick fix, but in 5-10 years you’ll be happy you did it.

I notice that your stalls are at the outside edge because you have hay stored behind them. Can you push the stalls back to the back wall and store your hay in the aisle space between the stalls?

I thought of that after my dh welded the pieces for the stalls to hook to and anchored them and all that stuff  i really wanted my pony to be able to come in n out as he pleases and eventually have a little run out area fenced off for the evening as well.

Bummer. So it would be hard to change.

There is always something isn’t there?

It never ends!!! I kind of want to put rolling doors up that can overlap each other but at the same time next year after taxes I am really hoping to build out the side openings into real doors with Dutch door openings and take the stall fronts and put them inside the barn with actual walls for the other sides, in which that case I could do rolling doors that open halfway on either side because I could have both dutch doors open from the outer edge of the barn right now one opens on the Outer Edge and the other one opens closer to the Middle Bays. Who knows or I could just do overlapping rolling n be done with it. Firstly i need gutters though!!! 😂😂😂

True story it’s always something. Husband and I are only modesty handy and don’t play well with ladders. The price of gutters almost knocked me over!

I had to find a place that takes credit cards which is almost impossible around here. I got quoted 325 for just the front of my barn with 2 downspouts! My barn is 36ft across.
