I have the surcingles shortened on mine. The fit is blousy, but generous in the right places, and shortening the straps eliminates the risk of a leg getting caught.

Shortening the straps wouldn’t have helped in my case.
Where are the liners on sale?
I also sadly returned due to fit, the Optimo came down below the knees on my guy and there was just too much extra space around the surcingles for it to be safe. The measurements seemed odd, I’m not sure sizing down would have worked without causing fit issues elsewhere. I think I will try the Amigo Bravo XL next to see if that fit works, if anyone has other suggestions I’m all ears!

I think it really depends on the horse. My horse is of a shape commonly referred to as a “big fatty” and the optimo fits him beautifully. Everything else, including his Rambo Supreme and Wug, rubs his shoulders as they are just too tight there. He’s a Dutch WB but has a Thelwell pony aspect to all 16.1 hands of him.
