Interesting. I learned something. I did not know about the packed tail thing.
One very good trainer years ago used to say, “just tell me what judges want and I will train for whatever they want”.
It seems somehow the tucked tail seems to be judged a positive, so trainers will find ways to train for it?
I am riding a mare that has done a lot of bucking up to this point.
One day she reacted when the rein touched her neck.
Now I hop on and we stand for a minute. I touch her whereever I can in this time. Neck, chest, under the saddlecoth, behind the saddle. It calms her.
Maybe those photos are to demonstrate that the horses WILL “pack” their tails rather than just having the horses going around like that where you might think they were deadened? It looks like a deliberate sales technique, so that was my thought
