seeing as I know the truth and that the vet she was bashing is in fact a very good vet who cares mostly about the horse…I felt the need to correct her “selective memory”.
#1. There are two sides to every story.
#2. The person you and Calamber have blatantly accused of wrongdoing in an open forum (can we say slander??) never mentioned any names just shared an experience related to the topic of this thread.
#3. Karma…

Fact is the vet was at her dad’s for 4th of July, was not on call, advised them what to do and she has continued to bash this vet still to this day ,if anyone is being slandered it is the vet. Horse world is a small world and there are more then a few of us that know what really happened in this instance.
Slander is spoken word so no one is being slandered. No names have been mentioned either. Maybe go start a new thread instead of derailing OPs.

We are six days post foaling and I have gotten second & third opinions. Everyone agrees that the tear as far as where it is isn’t life threatening. CSU is going to do the procedure and wants us to wait about sixty days. She is doing really well with just a small amount of banamine. I only hope that she heals well and goes on to have more foals.[/QUOTE]
This is indeed encouraging news! We are glad that it would appear that all seems to be heading towards a felicitous conclusion.
It is a scary circumstance! The attending vet for the pregnancy and the foaling as well as the healthy foal check is the one who was unable to come out when the mare began to prolapse and was of course the vet whom we called when that occurred. Our daughter and I were the only two involved in the situation together with the vet whom we called .Subsequently we called the University where an outstanding vet on Surgery at the University walked us through the event over the telephone. She was truly a guardian angel.
The facts are etched on my mind, in searing detail despite occurring six yeas ago. As the principals, any account of the events would have to come from my daughter, myself or the initial vet.
We are glad that you will be spared the experience.
I had a couple more questions that I hope someone could help me understand between vet appointments before this thread slightly derailed… And that was: Can mares heal without the procedure if the tear was only a couple inches long?
By the way, she is doing great! Being a good mom, eating well, no banamine and even running around a bit.
the details DID come from the initial vet

THIS.
Spirit 11 - I usually don’t get involved in these arguments, but I find it interesting that you basically joined this forum just to bad-mouth a very respected breeder. I know the party involved and have nothing but good things to say about her and her daughter, so please go back to your cave and leave the civilized world alone!

THIS
joined a long time ago…only comment when I see someone post blatant lies about someone.
My mare arrived at Littleton Large a week ago when her son needed medical attention due to a cut. I asked them to look at mom… and they finally got to her today. She had a tear (1grade???) And was completely healed at this point and we can breed her this year!!
