you are probably right on the money with the bedding, no it is not the only cause for thrush, but it sure ain’t helping things…seriously inadequate bedding is on the top of my NO NO list right under inadequate turn out and hay. Yes proper trims and nutrition are also key. In most cases a barn makes NO exception to the way they bed. period.end.of.story. and conversations regarding more bedding or the barn blacksmith usually do not go well. Even in rough board situations I have had people “comment” on how deep I bed.
The cow mastitis (think thats how you spell it) treatment called Tomorrow they have it at TSC and it works like a dream use a tube for 2 feet put the med in and pack with cotton.
