My daughter is getting much better and these are local shows at Training level. They follow the rules even though it is local level. When she is ready they will be gone. I did not ask to be flamed about their use just only if they were legal.
If they are the same as in Joiedevie99’s link, USEF 2018 Dressage attire & equipment booklet, then rest assure they are legal.
What’s the issue with the attachment vs full reins?
i see that the rules require a continuous rein, but what is principle makes the attachment a problem?
mpf to hijack the thread but why are the elastic bit hangers on PS of Sweden bridles a problem?
The little research I’ve seen on them has shown that although there was a tendency towards lower rein tensions under ‘normal’ riding using flexi-reins, the tension was actually increased above that of standard reins during transitions. Release of tension with flexi-reins also took significantly longer and was more inconsistent. I don’t have the reference handy but I’m sure it was a collaboration between ISES and Duchy College, UK.
I’m interested to see they are legal in the US as they are NOT legal for BD competitions.
Since her daughter has the full rein and not the insert, She’s legal
i bought the inserts after reading they are easier on the horses mouth when the rider has inexperienced hands. as I gain riding and contact experience I want to be gentle with my horse.
A proposed rule change in Canada allows for an elastic connection to the bit. I had never seen such a thing, but perhaps that is what you are talking about?
