Small update. His leg is doing great the magnawave has the tear and bow making great improvements and to curb his boredom walking 25 minutes a day we’re starting to long line for our walk in the back hay field and that seems to have him very happy. He was ecstatic getting tacked up
That’s fantastic
My guy had his check up yesterday. Leg looks normal, feels almost normal and is sound on his lameness exam. Ultrasound show no more lesions and looks just about normal. I will start cantering in 6 weeks because I want to take it slow and build.
We are up to 42 minutes of walking and 5 minutes of trotting. Adding two minutes of walking and 1 minute of trotting each side per week… Cleared for full time turnout in a small pen.
That’s so awesome!
Thank you. When do you get to ride you guy?
I feel Renovo really works and helped with the healing. All this walking and trotting has made connect with my horse and riding him correctly. I had to learn to ride like my trainer, who’s a man, and once I was able to have the light bulb moment, everything just worked out.
I’ve done all the work except for a few rides I had my trainer do due to my guy getting cheeky or I was stuck at work. I am appreciated of him to build a small paddock so my guy can get out. Now the whole barn is looking into Revono Equine, lol.
Possibly in 6 weeks but there’s several factors the main one being we don’t want to irritate that tendon before he goes on a long trip from the US to the UK end of August so we’ll just be playing it by ear. The upside is I’ll be doing a lot of our rehab rides in England on a very pretty old estate where his new barn is. We plan to ultrasound the leg within a couple days of him arriving to the barn to see how irritated if at all it is from the trip and probably long line a couple weeks even if he his leg looks solid on ultrasound to be safe then start up with his rehab tack walks. One big thing I think has helped him stay decently in condition has been his field cause his grazing muzzle has him walking a decent amount. That’s really exciting the progress you’ve made and I’m considering renovo for his hocks once everything financially settles down from the move lol
How fun that you’re going to the UK. Lots of places to ride that no swelting heat, lol.
Good luck and keep us posted!
Thank you I’m excited minus this getting his passport thing sorted out. It’s the first time ive ever gotten one for a horse and having to fill it out. It’s overwhelming but exciting.
