Replacing the chin guard on helmet?

I am still waiting to hear back from IRH, but I thought I’d ask here too. The little chin guard doodad that came with my helmet (which is only a year old) is worn out. It’s basically just a piece of slightly puffy fabric with a strip of Velcro that wraps around the chin strap. It’s not sticking so well these days. Can you buy these things individually somewhere? Can you buy slightly better ones?

I replace them immediately with black electrical tape-- the fabric makes my skin break out. I’m sure you could also make something easily and cheaply. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen any of the helmet brands offer them directly for sale, though.

Easy to go to any fabric store and buy a piece of black fabric and Velcro or just replace the Velcro on the one you have.

I don’t know how well I could make my own. The fabric used is a meshy, cushioned type that I highly doubt my local Jo-Ann’s sells. And actually, if replacements exist somewhere out there, I would’ve been interested in something a bit sturdier than just fabric… like something with soft plastic or leather.

You can buy all types of material at Jo-Ann’s. Even leather, plastic and and any other type of material. Just go in and look. You might even find a material you like better or go to Hobby Lobby. They have everything.
