Cat bites can cause really nasty infections.[/QUOTE]
That is true. We have had some our vet clinic clients hospitalized for up to 4 days because of infected bite wounds and those animals were UTD on vaccines.

Next time a pet bites you, claim it was an animal that you’d never seen before and promise to let them know the next time you see it.

That’s a one way ticket to a rabies series?!
Yes, I sent my DH to the ER one Saturday morning after the urgent care people said that they didn’t do bites because our cat took offense at being hauled out of somewhere and tossed, and nailed him but good on the way by. He was just at the beginnings of the pink streaky point, and he’s a real hypochondriac with the hydrogen peroxide and swabs and pinching it to make it bleed out and all that stuff. Those things puff up FAST.
I can’t recall about the rabies vax, whether we had to have proof or not, but I think we did because I have this idea in my head that the vax are good for a couple of years and that’s how I know (maybe that’s the dog, I dunno) Here in KY, they do NOT care. We did get the little note from the Health guy stuck to the door and then the subsequent release note.
God help us though, if she’d had Rabies by the time they posted the note it was really far too late for us to have taken her up and kept her separate from the rest of them and gotten DH in there in a timely manner for the shot series.
Where I grew up all dogs had to have their licenses and to get the license you had to have a rabies vax, around here, they look at you like you have three heads.
OP, hope you are feeling a little less stressed by now.
