Review: Body Protector for short-waisted people or anyone who hates stiff body protectors, but wants a Beta 3 Certified model

Got mine today too and wow, it’s awesome! I’ve only worn it around the house, but it feels just as secure and safe as my Airowear but so much more comfortable. My Airowear leaves bruises on the inside of my upper arms, but the Champion has so much more room to move around. I wore an L5 in the old vest and it was a major boob squisher (best way I can describe it, sorry - I am uh, well endowed). This one is a large regular and in all honesty, I probably could wear a medium. If I go by the size chart, my chest fits an XL and my waist is a M, so just a heads up you can definitely size down!

I’m a CDE competitor and accidentally came across this discussion and decided to replace my Tipperary after reading the reviews. I also received mine today (I ordered the L short off EBay for $129!!). The short length fits perfectly when I’m sitting in my carriage, and like AddLeg I think a medium would work. It is twice as thick as my Tipperary, so it’s going to take a bit of time to adjust to the difference. I’m just excited I saved so much money. I still need to purchase one for my navigator but I think I will order the medium short on the next deal I see.

So glad that people are happy. As several have mentioned, I sized down. I hope everyone continues to be as pleased with their vests as I am. I have no idea why the eBay sellers had them so cheap, but I am certainly happy that they did!

IFG - I was shocked at the $129 price and the skeptic in me thought it has to be a Chinese counterfeit, but I googled the company selling the vests and they are a salvage seller (overstocks, freight damaged boxes, etc) and they were a long time highly rated seller. It arrived with the original tags and is not a counterfeit!

Agreed. The only thing that I can think is the tag says Beta 2009, versus Beta 2018. Apparently, the vest is the same, just the label is different. Regardless, it is the first Beta 3, that I can actually move in, and I think that being able to move is as key to avoiding being injured, as a vest. So glad that folks who have ordered them are happy. You always worry about giving bad advice in a review and having people be unhappy.
