Ribbons: what do you like to receive?
Please don’t do anything too crazy… I have a large amount of blue and champion ribbons from Spring Circuit at what used to be Littlewood with BLACK ribbons… Rosette and center streamer are blue, the two on either side are black… they just look, not nice.

Neck ribbons are always nice to win :)
I thought those with the black were for jumper classics? DD has a couple of those and I love them. The yellow and black always makes me think of a bumble bee.

For hunter classics we love the long ribbons with tonal difference between the center and outside streamers. For medals DD always loves a neck sash.

Most of all for champion prizes she loves a saddle pad. Practicality and status all rolled into one:)

As a mom I don’t want to pay extra for ribbons and I value prizes vs. super fancy ribbons. Would much rather have a cup, towel, plate, saddle pad or leather halter as a prize than a very expensive or fancy ribbon. I think DD feels the same.

I like a traditional ribbon with the show logo. For classics, i like a longer one. For big classes with significant prize money, neck ribbons for top two.

I really like to win stemless wine glasses if your responsibilities go beyond ribbons into prizes.

Agree!! My stemless wine glasses with the name of the show are my absolute fav prize. I have pint glasses also that I like but definitely like the wine glasses.

Would you happen to know which company they use? I can only find photos showing them from afar but they look more European-styled, which is interesting.
sorry I don’t but if you give them a call I’m sure they’d tell you.

Still, how do you re-use leftover lower ribbons the following years anyway?
By doing an inventory after the shows and then ordering more or less of each placing depending on how many are left in the inventory. I’ll look into putting the year but I have a feeling the show committee would prefer to go without for now.

I would look at your options and try to stay within a budget… also don’t put the class/division or Year on the ribbons so you if you have extras you can use them the following year. As another poster mentioned earlier, ribbons can be quite expensive, upgrade champion and reserve ribbons. Do you give trophies for champions? Save money on ribbons and go for trophies.

I have never heard of people not returning to a show because of their ribbons - its generally how well the show is run, the facility itself, and how friendly/helpful the show staff are to exhibitors
