Horseless rider in Cleveland OH

Hello,

I’ll be moving to Cleveland next month (east side) and am looking for a dressage horse to lease. I’m a lower level dressage rider (first-ish but schooled higher movements) and am looking for something that I can really learn from. I would love for the horse to be at a barn with a trainer, but that’s not a deal breaker.

I’m a quiet rider and appreciate a horse that’s a little in front of the leg (but still safe and sane). I’m currently leasing an older OTTB gelding. I can provide more details about my horse history. Any leads are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Calm & Quiet, Lovely 2nd Level Dressage horse near Ashburn, VA

I’m looking for a dressage rider with experience at 2nd level or above who would like to ride a few times a week. Super quiet saintly gelding. PM me. Thanks!

“Horseless” rider casually looking for something to ride in the Ocala area. I’m in a bit of a rut with some soundness issues and other roadblocks, and looking for something to ride this winter. Very competent rider, primarily eventing and dressage but I am very flexible. Happy to help put miles on something green, or to ride something a bit quirky. Technically I am a professional but I have taken a step back from teaching/training to focus on my own horses (ha!). I have excellent references and am open to working something out that is beneficial for everyone.

Are you still looking for a horse to ride? I have a possible free lease available.

Horseless rider - well, rider with a young horse looking to keep my other skills sharp!

Southern NH (Kingston area)

Dressage and eventing background, competent on green to seasoned. Been riding for 20+ years. Happy to add miles, help keep fit, or sort out some bad behaviors for some extra saddle time. Please message me.

Horseless rider: Savannah GA area. Adult ammy with lots of green/problem horse experience. Would like to stick in the hunter jumper ring. But would really just like a horse that needs some work and someone to love on them.

I have a 16.1 Appy/TB cross who has a solid training level dressage background, schooling first level, and is green, but willing over fences. He learns quickly and is a cute mover/jumper. Sensible, without vices. Would prefer to half lease, but since I can’t make it out enough, a solid rider to hack him a few days a week would be nice. Jumping only allowed in lessons.

He is stabled on the east side at Sonoran Sun, a nice facility with a nice hunter/jumper trainer. I can send pictures if you PM or email me. mrsfitzdarcy@gmail.com

Riderless horse: Damascus, Maryland

I’m heading to grad school and would love to find someone to ride my 16’1 18 y/o TBx gelding 2-3x per week. Has done mostly lower-level hunters and eq in the past. Mostly looking for someone who just wants to come out and hack him around, but there are definitely lesson opportunities as well. Perfect for an intermediate or above rider who just wants some extra saddle time (he’s a good boy but not bombproof). Shoot me a message with a bit of information about yourself and what you’re looking for if you’re interested!

Riderless Horse: Ocala FL

I have a confirmed 2nd level mare for an on-site lease near Ocala, FL - off-site is not a possibility. She is 11 y/o, 16hh, super at shows, schooling 3rd, registered RPSI. Great confidence builder for people new to showing, sweet and kindly on the ground, extremely people-oriented. She is a fun ride when you get everything lined up. She is correctly trained and can teach someone a lot about how to really ride a horse in front of your leg and off of your seat. A beginner would be fine on her, she isn’t hot or reactive, and if you are unbalanced, she just goes does a downward transition or wanders off of whatever line of travel you were trying for. Lessee would be responsible for all care and shoeing costs, owner is offering incentives for at least a year commitment. PM me!

Riderless Horse: Dudley, MA

I am looking for a riding companion to ride my Paint, with me and my green OTTB, on trail rides and possibly hunter paces. Looking for an Intermediate adult rider, who is competent. By that I mean, if my OTTB looses his mind because he sees a horse eating bunny, I can focus on him and not have to worry about you.

Paint is a solid citizen, but I would’t consider him totally bombproof. He’s a barefoot 14.1h. More whoa than go, and he likes a good hand/light contact, (he will root with heavy handed riders). He is a lower level dressage horse, who began life western. I would like his new rider to get to know him in the arena for a number of rides, until you are comfortable with each other, before we trailer out to the trails (sadly, no trails from my property).

This is a free opportunity for someone who maybe wants a little extra ride time.
Please be vaccinated.

Horseless rider: Houston, TX

Experienced rider who recently moved to the area and is waiting for her own horse to come out of quarantine in Massachusetts. I have ridden mostly hunter/ jumper, but recently started eventing and have ridden a few upper level dressage horses. Happy to sit a buck, rear, or bolt, or ride something uneducated, just looking for some time in the saddle.

Riderless horse: Herndon, VA.

15.3 QH cross mare that is very sweet and quiet. 100% the bombproof confidence builder. On-site partial lease only with access to trails and lessons if desired. Jumps small courses and has a lead change.

Horseless rider: Portland, OR

Experienced rider (1.20 jumpers, 2nd level dressage) looking to half lease a confidence builder after a severe horse-related injury and retirement of horse. Ideally looking to get back into dressage (and stay on the ground!) but would be open to a safe, low level jumper.

Horseless Rider – Boston, MA

I’m in my 20’s and have over 10 yrs riding experience (hunter jumper + equitation), was on college and high school teams. Im 5ft3 and can ride ponies. I took a 5 yr break from riding and looking to get back into it. I have been taking a few lessons. Looking for a bombproof horse since I did take a long break from riding. Ideally near public transit/ could catch a ride with someone as I dont have a car. Though I can get a zipcar if necessary. A lease situation is not feasible for me financially but would be open to lessons, or exercise riding.

Tyler, Texas area - Horseless rider. Needle in a haystack?

I used to be a fairly experienced rider, riding local hunter/jumpers and then dressage through first level for nearly 20 years before taking almost 10 years off due to life and medical issues.
Looking for a larger horse (I am just over 200 lbs now) that may need an extra ride a week. I have some medical issues that have made riding painful, but nothing that would impede my ability to be safe on or around a horse. Due to fitness and health, quiet is best.

I would love to do some dressage work, eventually being able to ride a 2nd level test. Comfortable at walk/trot right now, and maybe some canter in the future but I’m in no rush. Willing to trade work for rides.

Horseless rider east of Ottawa, Ontario looking for a horse who could use some rides.

Owned my Thoroughbred mare for 17 years before losing her in late 2020. Over 25 years of riding experience, mostly as a jumper (competing at 1.10m for most of those years), but have also ridden/competed in dressage and taken dressage lessons. I also enjoy trail riding and am open to trying new disciplines, and riding horses who are out of shape and need a slow progression. I’m known to be a patient rider!

Edited to change location!
