Tibial Plateau Fracture. I use knee sleeves and kinesio tape, depending on what I need that day. The man who fits knee braces seemed to think that it provides some support and increases blood flow to the area. Suppose I could use an old fashioned blister like we used on the horses, but this is probably less damaging LOL!
I used it for my arthritic knee. It did seem to help a little when riding. My problem was that it pulled my skin off if I left it on for more than a day.
Used it for my shoulder…along with rolling before and after…I had big results for the pain. You can order an excellant book from Amazon with very good detailed photo s n explanations for uses on ligaments n muscles…Stays of or at least 3 days lasts thru showers
There are detailed video directions on youtube as well that are really helpful.
I have used it on a number of spots, shoulder, hand, foot and I think it works.
I have bursitis in my hip and have been using it for that the past week. It seems to help. I have an old ankle injury and when I ride hard it tends to have pain. I plan to use it on my ankle out XC schooling…that will be the real test! Hope it works.
I use it on my knee and it works very well for me - I like it and feel it has definitely helped with the rehab. I think applying it properly is key. I researched until I found a good PT video showing how to apply it. The instructions that came with the tape (from Amazon) sucked.
FWIW, I sometimes have shoulder pain that may or may not be rotator cuff. I was in the barn one day when wonder vet (as my DH calls her) asked why I was rubbing my shoulder. I said it hurt, and she pulled out some kinesio tape, palpated my shoulder to elicit pain and applied tape as she saw fit. There I was with less pain within minutes and onward for a week. (When tape fell off and hd to be reapplied.)
I was scheduled to see a human PT a few days afterward, and he told me that the kinesio tape was purely placebo effect.
Well, if it was, it got me through two cross country trips, carry on luggage and a visit with 7 energetic grandkids. I’ll take that anytime!
