I started with the then “same” BX as you did and only upgraded to what I have currently (still…after 13 years) because I wanted to add the backhoe.
The FEL will pay for itself very quickly so it’s good you got it with your new tractor. Please trust me on this…you will never know how you got along without it. Please also note, however, to use it to full extend, you’re going to want/need some significant weight on the back of the tractor to balance things. And never use it without the ROPs up and your seatbelt on. It’s not difficult to learn how to use…just use it. And don’t raise it up really high with a lot of heavy stuff in it!
There are so many different things you can acquire to do various jobs…your property’s needs will dictate that. For attachments, you really can look for pre-owned and don’t necessarily judge them if there is small dents and rust…I’ve purchased a few things that were really rusty for small amounts of money and refurbished them to look just like new. My back blade is a good example of that. $150 for a high quality Woods blade that was rusty and it’s now in Kubota livery with original Woods decals.
Enjoy your new tractor!
