Right stallion fit for my mare? Breeding an Eventer

Fleetwater Opposition has a good track record himself and for his offspring but they are known to be quirky. Their evasion of choice is often rearing. They often are not suitable for amateurs. They can also be brilliant.

who was that fantastic stallion posted a while ago that was jumping a cross country course jump with his knees to his eyeballs?? In the thread there were LOTS of pics of his offspring competing in eventing. Agh! Can’t remember his name!

here he is-Rather Well

We have several stallions that could be interesting to you. Don’t limit yourself to any breed… there are so many superb stallions here in the US. Breed for pedigree and traits, and you don’t necessarily have to pick a stallion who’s Evented. We had several clients last year ( top riders) use or consider using Vegas for their eventing stock. BTW I’m very sorry to hear your mare has suffered an injury, nice to know she still has a future ;0)

There is a stallion who I really like. He’s eventing and doing really well. He’s Belgium warmblood good size without adding too much bulk/height. Super Super jumper, and doing well in dressage as well. Clair de lune. http://www.sefarm.com/stallion-services/142-claire-de-lune?catid=48%3Afrozen-semen-for-sale

Flexible…Cruising

Flexible is an extremely well bred Irish Sport Horse stallion, He is rarely used here and it is a shame. His sire is the legendary Cruising who is well known to produce both extraordinary Jumpers and top lelve eventers. There is no Cruising semen but there is Flexible who is also bred to produce eventers and jumpers on both sides of his pedigree. The TB in his pedigree would compliment hers. I think he would be a first class cross on her and I think the foal would have very good value. PatO

Another happy foal owner with an Escudo II filly! LOVE my filly! She’s super smart, brave and has a ton of game! She was bred to be my dressage horse, but she can JUMP! In fact she loves to jump, out of arenas, into the next paddock, fallen tree in the turnout pasture - LOL. I think she actually wants to be an eventer. 3 lovely gaits, wonderful uphill build and very pretty to look at, the whole package. What Escudo II did on my mare was tighten up her coupling, higher set neck and seriously improved the canter/gallop.

Don’t know about your mare, but, I am a diehard Trak lover and this guy is an amazing opportunity now that he’s in Florida (thanks again Joe, you rock!! :D:D) Like someone just mentioned to me about my TB mare- read the threads on here and do some googling!

BTW- sorry to hear about your Mare’s injury :frowning: I hope she stays happy and sound for something you’ll both still enjoy!
