A minor is a child. That is a fact.
Absolutely. I’m with you 100%. I also understand that there’s a difference between a 7 yr old and a 17 yr old.
Neither is appropriate in terms of a sexual relationship with an adult, but there’s a difference.
And as someone stated earlier on this thread, how about a 12 year old? Can you categorically refute that allegation with your facts?
So I wasn’t going to comment on this new turn here because you are obviously hurting. I am so sorry for your loss.
However, sexual conduct involving a minor IS in my opinion abhorrent behavior towards a minor. It has nothing to do with anyone particular person nor does it involve holding a grudge.
And once again it is also that a trainer is in a position of power.
Is there anyone here who doesn’t think sexual contact with a minor is abhorrent? Really??? Are we really debating that word choice, cause it’s definitely abhorrent.
I used the word abhorrent. Because in my opinion, what he was banned for is just that. I have posted now twice on this thread. I have no vendettas or grudges. Hell, I’m not even involved in horses right now, but I do not have favorable opinions towards these trainers. I worked with a former student of Jimmy Williams and really admired him. I have no idea if she was abused by him or not as I believe she is gone now. But I grew up with him as a person to admire and look up to. It was very disappointing to hear about what he did. Like Denali, I am very black and white when it comes to stuff like this. I am not a victim, but several of my close friends have been. It is NEVER ok.
ETA: I also want to add that I do not think I am the one with the sick mind because I do not think that sex with minors is ok. It makes me wonder what kind of person thinks that I have a sick mind because I think that sex with children is abhorrent behavior.
Who is Steve Bostwick? He wrote this on Facebook. “How about a go to the headquarters and camp there ! They ruined my future to teach !!! Fuck you safe sport , rip rob gage,” He has been pretty rude in is posts.

I was wondering the same thing.
I was wondering the same thing.
I was wondering the same thing.
I was wondering the same thing.
The only mention of him that I’ve seen is about him being involved with one of the horses by Gemini, Gem Twist’s clone.
Amazing isn’t it? Convicted child molesters getting support.
I just wanted to highlight this part of your post. This is what is wrong with people. I get mourning a friend. I do. But to make this kind of statement? We are the sick individuals because we do not tolerate sexual abuse of children we are some how sick individuals? Wow.
HIs facebook page says Grand Prix Jumping and Horse Breaking, so there’s that. That’s all I know about him except for his crazy rantings about Anne K. Because she twirled her crop as a child.
She twirled her crop?!? Well, that explains it, then.

I’m sorry for loss but it shouldn’t be that tough to read. What’s tough is acknowledging that someone you thought so highly of had a darker side, one which hurt numerous people.
Here’s the thing. Semantics don’t work here. Because “sexual conduct involving a minor” is, in fact, “abhorrent behavoirs towards MINOR CHILDREN.”
At least in the minds of the healthy and well-adjusted citizens of the world.
Merriam-Webster defines abhorrent as:
1 : causing or deserving strong dislike or hatred : being so repugnant as to stir up positive antagonism, acts abhorrent to every right-minded person
2 : not agreeable : CONTRARY
a notion abhorrent to their philosophy
3a : feeling or showing strong dislike or hatred
b archaic : strongly opposed
Synonyms: abominable, appalling, awful, disgusting, distasteful, dreadful, evil, foul, fulsome, gross, hideous, horrendous, horrible, horrid, loathsome, nasty, nauseating, nauseous, noisome, noxious, obnoxious, obscene, odious, offensive, rancid, repellent (also repellant), repugnant, repulsive, revolting, scandalous, shocking, sickening, ugly
Antonyms: innocuous, inoffensive
The age of the child is irrelevant. 7, 12, 17…It’s abhorrent. For the folks out there on FB arguing that “17 is close enough” well, no. It’s not. And if you’re really that close to age of majority, and you guys are really “in love.” Just wait till said minor turns 18 in a few weeks. Otherwise. Yup. Abhorrent.
And in the case being discussed, RG, that’s children. Plural. That means more than one victim has come forward. More than one person was impacted badly enough to carry the scars for so long that they were willing to risk the wrath of the entire community to blow the whistle.
That must’ve been some pretty abhorrent behavior on the part of RG.
Honestly, this case and the reaction to it scares me half to death. The industry is sending a very loud message: that abhorrent behavior is a-ok. Victims are the ones to blame.
The fact is, the abhorrent pack-victim-attack going on all over social media is counter-productive to the very thing a lot of people are calling out for: transparency. If ever RG’s victims thought of going public, they are now likely so scared that it will never happen. Ever. So no one outside SS will ever know. Good job.
AND, the abhorrent pack-attack on victims is helping to ensure other victims of other creeps won’t report. Who in their right mind would sign up to be publically vilified? Who? They’ve already suffered, so let’s come after them with virtual pitchforks! Way to right a license to molest, FB gang. Are g-you proud of yourselves that among g-you, g-you have accepted well-known convicted child molesters? Because so far, no one has called out their comments.
There will be more SS cases. We all know it (not least because a lot of folks on FB are claiming “everyone did it” or “it was normal at the time”). And there will, sadly, be more suicides. And some of them will be victims who felt so trapped it was the only way out.
Not to be faceatious, but “Won’t someone think of the children?”
