As a teenager, I spent a few summers in France training and showing. My lesson with Bosty was one of the best I’ve ever had. He’s a wonderfully insightful trainer who demands softness and accuracy in his students. As far as his own style, I believe it was developed by riding incredibly difficult horses. Say what you will about his style but it gets him results. He’s also an excellent horseman

Bosty = LEGEND!! his stallions are handled with a single lead rope and no chain!! true horseman, style schmyle.

Well his Dad was a pro-rider… And he trained a lot with Jean D’Orgeix who was also a little “unconventional” in his approach.
He is certainly not “classical” in the pretty US Hunter way and yes, amongst ther other Frenchies, Kevin Staut and Penelope Leprevost “look better” on a horse but Bosty’s horses are always so balanced. It’s a very forward riding style (sort of like the old school British guys, don’t you think?)

  • he is super fast in a jump-off! & he is the 2013 European Champion, so I guess it works for him
