Why haven’t the horses had their tails bound up? Mud tails like you see out in the hunt field.
ML is being interviewed and said the horse was a bit meh, and the final straw - for the horse - was getting her tail muddy.
Interesting to hear that two other riders had startbox issues. To bad for Kim, she was having a great ride until then.

When they used to televise the derbies from Spruce Meadows they took to calling it “rail ditch rails”. I expect calling something a “coffin” is a bit off-putting to the general public.

I didn’t interpret the comment that way. I took it to mean that she got deep and sat down on her haunches more. Ie. Got her tail in the mud.
