Roy Moore manhandling another horse

There was another video of him on a different horse. He was rough and unbalanced on that one as well. Seen a number of guys “riding” gaited horses in that sloppy feet -forward way. Usually doing field trials when riding wasn’t their focus and the horses were saints. Never saw hands and tack that bad though!

I read a report somewhere that the horse was fine with the media but Roy started to yank her around and claim the media was spooking her. I have no idea how true that is. I’ve seen plenty of gaited horse people riding like him, with big shanked “walking horse bits” to set the gait or so they say. The horses are saints and are generally ridden at mach 4 for 12 hours on the trails and then raced at night around camp.

If you notice the background, his wife doesn’t seem to have any trouble at all with her horse–just moseying along without a care in the world. And I thought that the whole point of those horse breeds was to be able to just sit there and maybe enjoy a mint julep or a glass of champagne without worrying about spilling it.

Maybe it’s God’s will that he rides without a helmet…

I don’t see the horse spooking: I see a horse that is reacting to the discomfort of being yanked in the mouth by a bit that is in the wrong place and its shank being pulled into the horse’s lip/teeth. The horse’s manner and the way the horse is acting implies it has already been hurt by this and knows what is coming when the rider’s hand moves. Which it does: wildly. Hand flies up and the horse reacts knowing the rein is going to hurt it.

As for his seat, he has enough weight to give him the semblance of a seat. A real seat wouldn’t be dependent upon the hands hauling on the reins and the feet being jammed forward against the stirrups, and wouldn’t wobble like a drunken sailor with very change of direction.

The tack is an automatic fail. Inexcusable. If the intent was to show off, then the whole effort was an epic failure.
