Royal Ascot: FRI June 17 - live on TVG at 9am EST

If you don’t have TVG, you can watch live online on twinspires tv as well.

HRTV is also airing live, too but its merely the GBI feed.

No jock rides today from Joel Rosario (Mike Smith will assume his mount) or Kieren Fallon (due to neck issues).

The daily wager on hat colour: The Queen’s hat appears to be a very light green so those short wagers on it being yellow lost out

Odds from Paddy Power are below:

9/4: Yellow
7/2: Peach
5/1: Blue
6/1: Pink
6/1: Purple
8/1: Green
11/1: Red
14/1: White
16/1: Orange
20/1: Brown
25/1: Grey
40/1: Black

You can also wager on the Duchess of Cambridge (nee Kate Middleton) and her hat colour too. White appears to be at 2/1. Odds link here for what the bookies were offering

The Queen just unveiled the life size bronze statue of Yeats.

Btw, Goldi is not favourite in the betting at the moment, Canford Cliffs is 6/4 with Goldi a hair behind in price at 13/8. May well change by post time, but shows punters’ confidence in last year’s champion 3yo Miler who looked mighty impressive winning the Lockinge G1 last time out.[/QUOTE]

And so the era ends, but not without a valiant effort.

Canford Cliffs.
This is one good horse folks, best miler in a looong time. Fair dues to Goldi, she ran a great race, but he is some horse.

Btw, you can watch the BBC coverage live on justin Tv

Btw, Ollie Peslier was 1lb over weight on Goldi (124lbs instead of 123lbs)… and then lose by 3/4 length.
C’mon Ollie, stay away from the buffet.

Claire Balding just interviewed Todd Pletcher… in tails and tophat!.. he’s usually pretty dapper, but that was an odd sight!

Not as odd as Simon Bray interviewing Ken Ramsey and his big son, both decked out in top hat and tails!

Damn, another cracking race… Prohibit takes the King’s Stand, just holding off the Aussie star, the Hong Kong filly and the Budapest Bullet himself, who put in a credible performance, though probably past his best now.

Have to wonder though what Black Caviar would have done with lot.

Frankel.
Not as impressive, but he got the job done. Almost seems to get bored and idle in front, they may have to mix up his running style.

Drvmb - I have to agree from what I saw. Solid victory but not what was expected.

He surged past the pace setter and put several lengths on him as well as the field, but then just seemingly was bored. Not tapped out but not exactly responding to the jock’s taps of ‘mind your business and press on’ going to the wire.

Windsor Castle Stakes - last race of the day - had 26 horses (one scratch) … amazing field size! The US-entry Gentlemen’s Code for trainer Wesley Ward and Mike Smith up faded to 4th.

So You think… what a hunk of a horse!! Absolutely gorgeous animal, looks like a prizefighter.

Up next in the big race at Ascot today, the Prince of Wales Stakes G1 over 10f.

Whoa - that wasn’t expected! So You Think’s ride had shades of Frankel’s run but this time nipped. Frankie snagged a big one on Rewilding knocking off the 1/2 favorite.

Huge ride by Frankie. What an upset.

Aidan O’Brien just interviewed, says he takes full responsibility for the loss, says horse was not fit enough, too heavy (and man, he does look bulky), hadn’t wanted to put too much into him and had brought him along too slowly. Sounds like he underestimated this field for sure. Might go to the Eclipse at Sandown next. This loss really takes the gloss off the So You Think hype machine, will be interesting to see how he redeems himself the rest of the season.

Royal Hunt Cup up next, 30 runners over a straight mile, weight spread of 136lbs top weight to 114lbs bottom weight… have fun handicapping that one!!

Ouch!! 9-day ban on Frankie for excessive use of the whip in the upset of ‘So You Think’ while riding Rewilding.
