Run in shed roof options

Luna currently has a canopy which she appreciates as shade but did not care for when it rained until the last 48 hours. We had a couple of days of rain and she finally decided that it was more comfortable under the canopy and that she was not going to die there.

I am looking at the vertical style metal buildings as they are far better constructed. As I said in my original post, the biggest issue I have with them at this point is the reviews concerning construction crews and timely delivery. That is the reason I was looking at a pole type construction and roof choices there.

I had heard of bad reviews also. When I went out to meet with our local rep I asked him about all that and he was very candid. Its location specific, some crews are better and more reliable than others. For us, from day of order to install was 3 weeks and, that was because I had ordered during a nationwide summer sale and they were busy filling orders. The actual install took 8 hours (for a vertical style 25x36 with 9ft side walls). We’ve been really happy with it. Same with the barn I work at. They ordered two from a competing carport company and didn’t have any issues.

If you have any local horse related FB groups you might want to post there looking for recommendations. This would give you a good sense of whether the local carport/metal shed options are worth pursing.

Best of luck with your shed shopping!

Thanks, Charliezmom. Your post made me remember that I am a member of a neighborhood online group and I can ask about recommendations there. Not all horse folk but people get the carport/metal buildings for a number of reasons. Some people actually put cars under them

Not sure if you were interested in other options for the structure, but I am very happy with my Klene Pipe run-in.

They arrive as a bunch of pipe and you bolt it all together, then add whatever kind of walls and roof you want. Bonus: they are portable and can (with a big enough tractor) be dragged to a new location. (This was important to me since mine is technically sitting in a utility easement.)

Just thought I’d pass it along since I also looked at carports and decided on this instead.
