"Rural Heritage" writes about how horses should be started

Apparently he feels he was showing readers what could go wrong…[/QUOTE] Well he really does need to be congratulated for his outstanding success.

He sure showed me what goes wrong when there’s a dumb animal involved!

I think I’ll just pop outside and mess up some harness and loosen a wheel and make a barbed wire bit so I can show my trainees what not to do on their lessons. Do you think you know a photographer that could stand by for me whilst I drop a horse to it’s knees?

I was always taught that when you’re hitching a young horse for the first time, you should hitch the experienced partner first. They steady the newbie and allow it to learn that there is nothing to fear. They also learn to stand when the older horse stands.

Seems like a much easier way to train to me.
