Sad News About Ukele - sold Equine Products to Smartpak

My biggest worry is that they will start discontinuing products that are cheap so we have to use the expensive Smartpak version.
Like discontinuing the Chromium (.45 a day) so we use the metabo-lean (1.46 a day)

Over the past several months there have been threads with loads of people griping about their crappy service. A quick search on this forum should find you a bunch of info.

Have you looked into HorseTech for chromium? They have but donā€™t know if itā€™s cheaper than what youā€™re feeding

Same :grimacing:. My experiences have all been great and Iā€™ve found them to have some of the best customer service.

Itā€™s about 80% more expensive. Still less than the Smartpak version though. Santa Cruz also sells it and there itā€™s about the same as Uckele

I have not seen a thread about it recently.

I can say that I have not had any problem with my monthly shipment or any time I have ordered from there.

I did struggle with a return once, but a few phone calls with always polite people and things got figured out.

I get chromium yeast from Ultra Cruz. They make a pellet that works for the picky eater.

Iā€™ve been buying Uckele Tendon EQ from Smartpak.
It seems TEQ can be purchased directly from Uckele.?
I recently ordered Spirulina pellets - for the first time - from Smartpak.
Paid for but not received.
I did get a big box from SP this week - thinking it was the Spirulina - but why the big box?
In the box was someone elseā€™s order and a SP drawer.
I guess someone got my order?
The wrong box was supposed to go to someone in Florida.
I wonder what Iā€™m supposed to do with the wrong order I received - and if I need to cancel my order.
I think Iā€™m done with SP.
Dr Kellon (ECIR) is a consultant or such for Uckele.
I wonder about the supplements she
ā€œdesignedā€ for Uckele and if she/they will be effected.

Does anyone want powder uckele poly copper and poy zinc?? Will mail for shipping cost. Copper is unopened, exp. 5/2023. Zinc open, about 1/2 full, exp 6/2023

I just received an email this morning about 4 new Smart & Simple products from SmartPak: Magnesium, Jiaogulan, Garlic, and Kelp. IIRC, these were all available through Uckele, so they could be absorbing some of their equine line into SmartPakā€™s own supplements, which I think someone suggested upthread. I havenā€™t looked up the price differences.

Multiple shipments being weeks late, my SmartPaks being late month after month to a point were my horse was not getting supplements that I paid for for about a week until the next one showed up.

It didnā€™t start this way. I used to have extra SmartPaks. But something happened, and a ton of people starting having issues with shipping and frankly, the cost.

Thatā€™s so weird. I get everything quickly and reliably. I am in MA so maybe thatā€™s it but you would think it shouldnā€™t matter.

I used to be a huge SP fan. Now their prices are going way up and I try to give my business to smaller businesses. But when I need something quickly I still use SP. or when they have a good sale.

contact your card issuer as most all credit card issuers do not permit charges before an item is shipped

Mine eat it dine with a handful of senior as top dressing. I guess Iā€™m lucky! Will be switching to horsetech.

Me! Need poly copper!

So I did some digging around, and SmartPak charging cards before shipping products is a NO NO for Visa and Mastercard holders. Yet, SP states right out in the open, that they will charge your card 2 business days before shipping for Autoship. They do not qualify for ā€œadvance paymentā€ for Visa at least, I couldnā€™t find anything for MC about pre/advance payments.

VISA (pg 555), 7.6.1.2

MASTERCARD (pg275 non face to face)

Iā€™m digging into Discover and American Express for their non face to face/subscription based transaction rules, the legal jargon takes a while to get through lol

So strange, first Iā€™m hearing of these types of issues. I do have to say that I ordered a girth to try and they had it priced almost $20 more than Riding Warehouse, that surprised me because usually Iā€™ve found their prices to be quite competitive! Itā€™s a shame that some folks are having problems, hopefully theyā€™ll rectify it soon. Thanks for your input!

I did some price shopping at Smartpakā€¦I really love Ukele products. They are priced the same (so far), and they have free shipping on orders over $75 vs. Ukeleā€™s $150.

I am not concerned about prices, yet - they just have to get their shipping process under control.

PS - I have had good customer service in the past, my issue is the shipping (as you can tell!)

I finally got an email from Uckele yesterday about this. I order their Equi VM in a 50# bag once a year. Now what? Iā€™m going to keep an eye on this as far as pricing and whether SP will carry what I want. I also wonder if any of the formulations will change? I sure hope not.
