He is not associated with Paramount anymore but I believe is doing his own thing?
Christian is doing saddle repairs and also has an awesome line of leather care products. He is in Sault Ste Marie though, not the GTA.
I’ll stand by my positive personal experiences with John from Paramount for fitting. Can also highly recommend Joe from Canterbury Outfitters and also Genevieve Kendall Hayes.
I would not recommend Bahrs. Have heard good things about Sprucewood but have no personal experience with them.
I’ve had great results with Joe from Canterbury Outpost over the past few years. He’s pretty in demand, so it can be tough to get on the schedule. I’ve used a couple of the other fitters named in this thread, and the first time Joe came out he gave me a very different assessment of how my saddles fit than they had previously described. His suggestion and adjustments made an enormous positive change for my horse, and I’ve happily used him ever since.
Thought I’d do a shout-out here for John Banbury of Paramount Saddlery and his team. I recently acquired a used L’Apogee dressage saddle from the U.S. that needed some tweaking, and due to the Canadian exchange rate with the American dollar (I’m in Canada), it was less expensive for me to have the work done in Canada. I found out about Paramount on one of the Chronicle Forums so decided to contact them when I also saw they were very well recommended by friends on the Paramount FB site. The customer service was exemplary; the Zoom saddle fitting went remarkably well with the extra videos and pics I sent on What’s App. They checked back with me about the changes I requested to make sure they had it right, and to offer extra considerations. Kept costs down using Canada Post parcel delivery (3 days earlier each time than the estimated date) like they suggested. Total time was exactly 3 weeks in May this year from the day I shipped the saddle to central Ontario from the very west coast of Canada to the day I took delivery. Best of all, the saddle fits me and my horse, and neither one of us is easy!
