I’m looking for suggestions for a light weight round skirt saddle for a 13 hand welsh pony, that’s not to expensive, but comfortable for both of us. Thanks for your help
Have you ruled out english type saddles? They will have the shortest length. The treeless Sensation english model might be good, used would bring the price down. There. Is one or two low cost and very light weight synthetic saddles that are cheap versions of the Freeform saddles. They don’t last as long but a lot of people find them useful and comfortable. These treelees saddle can fit the short backed horses easily as they adapt to the rise of the loins of the shorter backs. Any saddle that has a western type pommel in front of you will be longer.

If you’re looking for a western saddle, I have an Arab tree Abetta that I use on our 13.1 hand Welsh. He’s pretty wide so he doesn’t have a problem with it.
