Saddle help?

I ended up trying a few saddles out to see what I liked
The Antares I tried was a 17.5 with a 12.5 inch flap and that configuration just didn’t work for me at all
I tried a few Voltaire models out;
The palm beach I really liked with the flatter seat, I was surprised that the 17.5 ended up working better than the 18 inch seat. The standard forward flap worked best. However that had pressure points on the seat that hurt my behind.
I tried the Stuttgart as well and felt like I was posting out of an abyss with the deep seat :joy: but sitting the canter was much easier in it
Both saddles did fit the horse best with a half pad on

I took a CWD out on trial and sat in it at the consignment shop and I just didn’t like it enough to even put it on the horse and ride with it

The brand I actually ended up going with shockingly enough was Arion.
Arion is new to the market but is very similar to most of the French Saddles like Devacoux, Antares, CWD, Voltaire etc
I was shocked at the quality of these saddles, the leather is beautiful, it was nice to look at, plenty of options for customization.
They have a wider gullet and shoulder relief system, so horse fit is really important to them
The seat of this saddle…. SOOO comfortable. Put me in the correct position, was comfortable, leather was super grippy and great quality. They are made in France
It fit the horse fantastically with no extra padding necessary.
I honestly loved everything about this brand and recommend anyone interested in a saddle to try them

That makes sense. I don’t think they are supposed to and the A5 especially can be hard to fit those with high withers.

The older ones especially before the smart ride system were notoriously harder to fit certain horses. I think it’s better now with his smart ride system.
I personally like the lower pommel on the Tad’s for myself, I have issues with clearance of the pommel on certain saddles especially at the posting trot. But there is also something to be said with horse fit and balance of the saddle on that as well.
