I just wanted to update this post, I ended having more hip pain issues with the Thorowgood saddle.
I currently am riding in a Total Contact Saddle and absolutely love it! So does my horse!

Just bringing this thread back to life to ask if youâre still riding in your Total Contact Saddle and happy with it.
Yes I absolutely love it!! It has changed my life! I am pain free riding, and less hip pain in general. I use a nonslip pad and half pad under the TCS and love how much I can feel my horse move.
It took a few rides to get my balance and core engaged, it is like bareback but with stirrups.
There is a FB group, just search Total Contact Saddle and it should come up. Itâs a very helpful group.

Well I ride in a less conventional chair seat for walk, sitting trot, and canter anyhow. I am able to move my legs easily, to slide them back underneath me, for posting trot.
These is an instructor in my area that promotes this for stability and safety in the saddle. Stable Riding (also on FB). And I have been taking lessons from her. So this saddle is perfect!
I donât have any issues sitting and holding the traditional shoulders, hips, heels alignment in the saddle, itâs just the position doesnât work for me and my hips anymore! (Short rider round horse 
)
