sales agreement- no auction clause?

If you want to control the future for a horse, lease.

Yes you will have to take him back eventually.

But you don’t get rights without responsibilities.

Another LEASE you can put anything you want in a sales contract, but hard to monitor and enforce. Much better chance of keeping the horse safe in a lease, not that leases are perfect just better than a sale if you want any influence over the horse’s future.

The clause is put into place to make sure the person does not violate it. If there is something looming on them if they do wrong, they are less likely to do wrong.

And just FYI- THIS horse get upset if he is not chosen to get groomed and ridden. My horses have always been waiting at the gate to be chosen.

I think you have a pretty rosey view of the power of a clause like this.

He sounds like a great lease candidate, though!

It is hard to sell a horse you love. i know it is better for him to have someone to love him and spend more time with him. And i know can’t control the outcome, just want to stack the odds in his favor.
