Do not do a video unless your horse is clean and mane pulled and trimmed and shiney. And video in a good ring with nice jumps. I had a friend, years ago, who video’d her horse at her barn (about the only thing you could say about it was that it was safe). Sent the video out to many people and got no replies.
She took a second video at a trainer’s lovely ring with landscaping and good show ring jumps. The horse sold in several months for an outrageous price.
And the rider should be in breeches and [polished] boots.
It’s the old “you are known by the company you keep”. If you want your horse to fit in to a fancy AA barn, he has to look the part.
I would get a good video, post it on YouTube and email/PM a lot of trainers, asking them to look at it, because you want to send the horse to them (change name with each PM) to go on the road and get sold. And did ______ (BNT name) think he/she could get the horse sold?
When someone replies, THAT is when you ask what he/she thinks the horse should be priced at. — Hook them in before asking for an opinion from them.
PS. Keep the entire video, start to finish under 3 minutes. A pro can tell if they like the horse after it has trotted and cantered once around the ring. My eyes cross when people trot and canter ad nauseum. Then a lead change in each direction, 2 trot jumps and whatever else the horse is doing now.
