I use Scoop Away from Costco. It goes on sale about every quarter. I use Rubbermaid totes that I cut a part of the side out of. I use 42 pounds to start. I scoop litter about every 5 days. I top off litter every couple of weeks. Four cats with 2 boxes. I totally dump and clean maybe once a year. Those 4 cats are indoor/outdoor. They prefer indoor.
I have 1 indoor only kitty. She gets scooped maybe once a week. I go through 42 pounds in her Rubbermaid box maybe every 6-9 months. I top as necessary.
I have been told by non-animal people they didn’t realize I had cats and litter boxes.
The Costco litter comes as 4 bags of 10.5 pounds each. The Walmart version is more expensive and a smaller size- maybe 38 or 40 pounds.
