ETA: Also continually mindblown by the concept of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a glorified farm animal with suicidal tendencies who may or may not be inclined to run real fast. I know this money is childās play for buyers at this level but it still baffles.

I tend to look at the physicals from a sport horse view as well.
However, bloodlines and broodmare potential make a big difference when the racehorses are selling.
