Scott Hassler

Scott & Suzanne are a true class act. Wonderful. I would jump at an opportunity to ride with them.

His mom, Jill Hassler-Scoop was an amazing lady, and I see much of her teaching style in Scott. She was my first true dressage instructor, and I will always be grateful to her for the knowledge she shared. She had an amazing style of making you really think through the choices you were making, rather than just shouting commands. She is greatly missed.

WOW, is this a first? Not one single, negative post about him!

I guess you missed it, Ton said trainers who make positive remarks are patronizing.

And the clouds parted and the heavens opened and the sun shone down… It must be Christmas time!! :D:D

(that and/or he’s actually a good guy and trainer)

Let us bask in the positivity of this thread…

Does he still ride, or strictly teach? I agree that he’s a very positive and effective teacher. I really want and need a trainer who will jump on my horse and school him when necessary. I would love to ride with Scott, he’s such a huge asset to the US.

Ditto what everyone has said, he is very positive and does think about the horse at all times. I have had the priviledge and yes, it is a priviledge, of riding with him in several clinics as well as going to their farm for a couple of lessons last summer and he is just great to work with. He has an incredible knack of figuring out what needs to improve and in literally minutes he can observe, evaluate and correct. I have never felt overfaced.

I think it also might help me because my trainer trains with him and encourages me to ride with Scott whenever possible.

Scott and Susanne are wonderful, kind and professional and yes, probably the nicest people I know.

He doesn’tdo it often, but he’s hopped on horses of mine at my request. And he still rides at home.

 yeah but let’s be careful not to glow too much, the light attracts bugs.

thank you so much for the replies. i have signed up to ride in the clinic on my half arab mare…so i’m glad he’ll accept her for who she is. the clinic is in two weeks…i’ll post a recap as I’m auditing the rest of the day as well. yippee!!!
