Secret Santa 2015 - Share your stories & Thank your elf!

Sobriska,

Thank you so much for all the goodies. I got a bag of horsey magnets, a really cute stuffed unicorn, “Horses Never Lie” by Mark Rashid, a beautiful necklace with a momma and baby horse facing each other (forming a heart shape pendant…I admit, I am fuzzy headed with a cold, so it took a little while of looking to see the shape!!) and a Painted Pony figurine. You went above and beyond and made my Christmas very special. Thank you again :):D.

Disappointed that I have recieved nothing.
Nothing for me either but at least my elf has been in touch to say the package has shipped. Not all elves create an alias so perhaps your package is just delayed. We’ve had crazy weather here in the West and it’s creating all sorts of problems with the mail, UPS, and FedEx.

I’m so happy I waited to open my box. Except I still don’t know who my elf is!

I got a wonderful dressage book that I can’t wait to read, some awesome smelling soap and bath salts, horse coasters, a chocolate bar, and the most awesome penguin knee high socks! Oh, and some treats for both the cats and the horse.

I have a sneaking suspicion who my elf is since the soap is from Whidbey Island. Feel free to out yourself, and thank you so much!

Dear Elf

Thank you so very much for making this a really wonderful day for me! It hasn’t been the easiest fall for my family and Christmas, though wonderful for the true meaning, was a little less jolly (but we are grateful for every one we may get now).

I had opened the box and found the treats and the GORGEOUS saddle pad (seriously, that is exactly one I would have picked out for myself!). And the cats loved their early surprise (just the right size for the dog-like cat to play fetch with!).

I opened everything else just now. WOWEE, you sent such beautiful things including a matching fly veil for my boy! He is horrible with the flies and as soon as it warms again here (hoping soon - it is the SW after all) I will put that to good use. I’ll just take away that excuse for him to ignore me

And beautiful matching dark green polo wraps. That saddle pad, it is just beautiful and a brand I’ve been wanting to try! I love my irish socks, too

Thank you for the extra cheer today! I hope you’ll let me know who you were - because I think you must be a pretty special person. And thank you for sharing the treat recipe - I was going to ask what it was because my horse (and the other one I ride) thought they were really delicious!

Thank you seems inadequate - you were very, very thoughtful and I am grateful to have been on the receiving side!

I hope you had a holiday that made you smile - reefy!

Your elf, outing themselves as requested!

Glad you liked the gifts - that book is by a now-deceased trainer who was kind of a legend in these parts. Hard to find outside of local distribution, but an interesting take on his career/life in his own words.

Elfetta - thanks for all the lovely gifts for horse, pup, and human! Pop Tarrt will be sharing his goodies with his new brother Souza - and though all the ornaments were beautiful, the horsehair angel has a special place on the tree and will be a beautiful reminder of my dear Lump Sum!

My elf was wonderful,. I sat and stared at the gifts for like THREE weeks. I opened them yesterday. Tug loves the bark box. Seriously we have been playing with the squeaky toys and he likes the treats. Kane will get the HUGE bag of peppermints when I go down south. Those are his favorite and will use them when I do clicker training with him. I love the boxer mug and sign. They will go up in the new apartment.

LovelyBays - I was your elf again and you have a few things that are still in shipping mode since they came international. So don’t be surprised when more comes!!

thank you!!!

My box came in the mail!!! Presents are under the tree. Oh, it’s going to be hard to wait. The wrapping is incredible. Thank you. I’ll be back after Christmas
OMG! My elf out did herself. Absolutely the highlight of my Christmas. Best of all was the time and care finding a Pony Club bag. Couldn’t have been any better!!

WingedPanda, you are such an awesome elf. I have no idea how you knew about my closet penguin obsession. Those socks are perfect!

Really interesting info about the trainer. I’ll definitely treasure it and will probably learn some new things in the process (or some long forgotten things)!

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Talkofthetown rocks!

Dear talkofthetown,

THANK YOU so much for your gifts! I held out until Christmas and brought your box down to my parents’ house to open on Christmas day. I LOVED your cards and your teasing emails!!!

And I love the leather care products. They smell SOOOOO good and I really did need good leather care products. My soap is a shriveled lump, and I brought back an old hunt seat saddle from my parents that is really in need of some care. The scrumptious not-quite-hot-chocolate is in the front of my cabinet (I can’t WAIT to try this as I LOOOOOOVE hot chocolate types of beverages) and Fior is going to be super excited about the plentiful peppermints (his FAVES!). My Dad wanted you to know that he had to test out the peppermints to be sure they weren’t poisonous () and he certified them “Father Approved”.:yes: (He’s not horsey at all but he knows a good peppermint when he sees one).

THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this COTH SS so fun! I really appreciate your gifts and your rhyming efforts!

:D,
J-Lu

Finally had time to sit down and thank my elf- Daisyesq- who didn’t actually out herself but we had each other. I recognized the address when the parcel arrived before christmas!

LOVE the earnings ! Gorgeous set of very fine metal horse&rider in a circle. Not quite locally made but artist type. Wore them last night for Christmas supper. And tonight.

The necklace horse pendant is lovely. Managed to find a necklace for it and wore it also for Christmas dinner.

The flexible hooks might make it down to the barn . Always useful to have on hand.

And the geocaching cache buddy will be super fun to get started! Never done one of those before ! And he’s very cute!

Thank you!

P.

Haha, I had Talkofthetown, J-Lu had me, and Talkofthetown had J-Lu- NICE Chocomare!!!

Just out of curiosity…what’s the most popular $$$ amount?..It doesn’t matter significantly to me…I just gauge my budget for that Christmas.

RolyPolyPony…
Thank you SO SO much for my gifts!! I caved. I tried to wait until Christmas but alas I failed. I just love everything you sent. The lunch bag is so pretty and I love the saddle pad. I am guarding it closely because number one daughter thinks it would look adorable on her pony!!!
Merry Christmas to you and yours and thank you so much again!
YAYAYAYY!! You are welcome! And if you haven’t used the Higher Standards stuff before, you are in for a treat!

Merry Christmas!!

Dude when I saw that J-Lu had you, I cracked up!

J-Lu, so glad that you liked everything! I had lots of fun being your elf!

Reefy! Hi! I’m your elf  I’m so glad you enjoyed everything, you’re so kind! This was my first year doing the secret santa, and it was so much fun

Best wishes for the new year, too!

Was finally able to get to the post office to pick up the package from my elf. Thank you mystery elf! I got hand knitted gloves in a lovely shade (actually several shades) of green. And did I mention that they were hand knitted. Just for me! They are so soft and warm, can’t wait to wear them. We just had another snow storm and it’s wicked cold when the sun goes down.

Thanks again elf!

I’m curious about the title/author of the book.

It is Reflections from the Life of a Dressage Teacher - Dietrich Von Hopffgarten.

Just getting around to posting this thank you, but my elf, Cllane1, was AWESOME!! I got a fabulous glass pitcher with a silver horse head cork/cap (which is now gracing a shelf in my living room), a lemonade-scented candle that I’d really like to be able to eat, and a fruitbat necklace, which I’m still giggling about.

Thank you Elf!!

I just want to say thank you to my Elf, I opened up my box on Christmas Eve with my horse, and I really really appreciate what she did for us!! Thanks Murphy’s Mom, so very much. She got just what I asked for (ThrushBuster) which happened to have run out the day before I opened the box (glad I waited to purchase more!), a lovely navy groom tote (how did she know I was looking to upgrade my tote?!), and lots of goodies, including SNOW!!!

This has been a great first year of SS for me. I can’t wait till next year!
