Seeking More Information on LM Boots

Thank you so much! I reached out, and he is going to measure me tomorrow!

Maybe they would show me pity lol. I honestly will unashamedly ask for a student discount because I am in college and I need discounts now more than ever. I did not even think about student discounts, so I am very grateful you brought that up.

I almost went the Ego7 route because I think they are very stylish, but its hard to find them used. I also looked on their rep map on the website, and half the tack shops no longer carried them anymore. I bet it has something to do with how popular they are these days.

Yes! It’s navy tooled trim (the narrowest option I think). I was debating adding grey piping to it too but the judges I was with said I should stay pretty staid. The main part isn’t the patent black either, it was whatever the medium option was, enough shine to look special but not enough I had to worry about cracking.

For what it’s worth, ego7s didn’t come wide enough for me but my calves are wide and get full higher than the standard shape but I do know more standard sized people who love theirs.

Man these threads kill me  I want new boots so bad… I am not fat (though I’ve gotten chubby in my 40s) and even before that I was a semi-custom. I have no joke 16.5’’ calves but 7.5 feet, so I was able to get away with the DeNiro XXL calf and a custom knee so they weren’t gapping at the top, but then I got chubby from a medication and I don’t want to bust the zipper… Sigh.

I know I’m a bit late to the party but wanted to throw my two cents out there anyway. I got measured in Virginia by Whitney Blanchard and I absolutely LOVE my LMs. I am tall so nothing off the rack has ever fit me. These boots, however, fit really nicely and (in my opinion) are really beautiful. They are just my show boots, however, so I can’t speak to how they would hold up as daily riders, but I have had them for four years and they still look gorgeous.

I hope your experience ends up being as good as mine!

So, I’m a neighbor of brokestudentEQ1 and went with her today for the measurement. I was so impressed with Mr. Lummis and his knowledge and the LM measurement process. His experience was invaluable. I have custom Dehners from 50 years ago that I showed the A circuit in. I still can ride in them, although they are not stylish now. Actually being able to see and touch the sample boots was great, and they take 24 measurements of each leg and feet for precision. If you’re thinking about these boots (they are beautiful in person!), I’d highly recommend being measured in person if possible, as opposed to trying to do it yourself. I"m as excited for her to receive the boots as she is .

We’ll need photos. Glad all went well. I always look at their boots at their KY3DE booth thinking, some day!

I ended up adding the front-facing ā€œVā€ top in patent black with the silver initials, and other than that, they are just black field boots. Unfortunately, I spent more than I originally wanted. However, I think the upgrades I added will make the boot last longer!

I will definitely have to update this post when they come in…Estimated date of arrival is March 27th. I can’t wait to try them on!

Ooo those will be gorgeous! Did you get the reinforced inner calf patches? I was happy I did that. Easier repairs if you ride a hole through one.

I’ve had my three pairs almost 5 years now and have no regrets. It’s a pair of brown ones I’m eyeing now! I have the gray horse, the rust breeches—it seems like a necessary purchase :joy:

I will also say that if I could wear my LM boots for everything I would. Every other pair of shoe I own I have to finagle in some way to fit my overly narrow heels + ankles coupled with really flat arches. These babies I have literally worn and stood in all day no issue.

I totally get now why some folks (likely with more disposable income than me) frequently purchase custom shoes for daily wear. It’s a game changer if you’ve got odder than average feet.

I bought 3 pairs of paddock boots for that exact reason…one for the barn, one for street wear, and a third in case something happens to one of the other pairs. They are the best shoes I own for my neck.
