I have 2015 Shadow Stablemate 2 horse bumper pull with dressing room. I love, love, LOVE my trailer. It is everything it was cracked up to be and then some. The dealer I got it from kinda stunk… I got a lot of run around before my trailer was delivered, but I have no complaints about the trailer. Very happy with my Shadow.
Glad to hear the good comments because I actually bought the one I was looking at last week. It seems high quality and the dealership was clearancing them out, so I got a super good deal! I will let everyone know what I think.
My trainer has one and I asked him about it because I had seen this thread a couple of months ago pop up. He said there’s definitely not as many bells and whistles as some of the other brands but that he didn’t need all of that and he was not worried at all about the safety of the horses. He did confirm that if he had a choice he would have had one a bit wider as most horses fit OK but some of the really larger/longer ones have to go in the back slot or they just don’t fit (some of that could be due to the mangers as well though). But all in all, he likes it very much (his is a 6-horse slant and I believe he has a couple of side tack rooms in addition to the gooseneck/dressing room).
Which dealer was that? I was browsing sale ads and it looks like there are two Indiana dealers and one in Michigan now, but not all of them are listed on the Shadow website?!
I finally got to the Shadow dealership this weekend. I didn’t see anything about the quality that was a cause for concern. I was quite impressed by how light the ramp was; my Brenderup’s ramp always took both hands and a slight oomph to raise. Fingers are all that are needed to raise the Shadow’s ramp. I was told that they are already discontinuing the fiberglass roof option. So if I’m going to get one I guess I better do it soon. Though they do have the option of an insulated roof as well.
I actually got to put my horse in a trailer to see how she fit in a slant and if she could turn around in the 6’4" width–she could!
OTTB which trailer dealrship did you go to?
Michigan
Bumping with a question… Im looking at the Stablemate 2 horse slant stock and was wondering if any one had experience with this trailer? Specifically im concerned about how big each horse spot is. I have a 15’3 h gelding with the possibility of hauling a friends 17h draft, it seems tall enough but the width is a concern. Anyone with experience?
