I use these and they’ve been great. I wear some seamless high-waisted undies underneath for comfort/hygiene and I don’t get panty lines.

I have a Jockey high waisted piece, it goes from where my bra leaves off to mid thigh, it never rolls down but I think that is because I bought it a size larger. Its exceptionally comfortable and it smoothes everything really well but its not really holding anything in either. I recently wore it with a very clingy knit dress and was amazed at how sleek I looked even though I’m not skinny. Not a roll in sight!
I have found that a top/tank/cami works better for me than the bottoms. For me, bottoms always roll down. I am short waisted, which makes it a challenge. But I use these to show in:
Almost identical to the HoneyLove ones I posted about, only at a better price!
That’s it! I’m sure there’s lots of ‘shape wear’ out there but thank you for telling me it’s “rideable”. I just want some smoothing, especially when I’m in the equitation or undersaddle. I’ll have my airvest on over fences.
I find this I find this Spanx shapewear to be really effective yet comfortable. The straps keep it from rolling down, and I can still wear my sports bra. I don’t know if I would want to wear it in hot weather, but I’m a miserable cow when it’s hot anyway.

Thirding the panache sports bras! Especially if you have a narrow ribcage and larger boobs. Fantastic bras!
I also have the enell, which feels like wearing plate armor, but also works. Not flattering like the panache, though.
Oh, one helpful hint if you are new to shapewear tops. I was not. I struggled to get the tank over my head, wiggle it, contort my arms to reach the back, etc. You step into the top and pull it up over your hips.
Me too! No matter the size, brand or type. I thought I was the only one…
I have to limit myself to ‘from-the-top-down’ items like camisoles.
I actually started showing in the Jockey thigh-length versions from Target and prefer it as it prevents the dreaded VPL as well as the “inverness situation”
Thank you for saying this. I am glad I am not the only one with this problem.
I would think going potty in that thing would be really hard unless there’s snaps in the crotch area.
I couldn’t do those. I tried one with a dress, and it was a hassle when I really had to use the potty. I can only imagine how hard it would be for me when I was hot and sweaty at a show having to first take off my top, then my breeches, then roll down the Spanx while in a porta potty at a show. Nope.
I rode in these cami-type tanks for a long time. Similar to the other tank tops posted, but stop under-the-bra rather than over.
Like ParadoxFarm, I couldn’t ever figure out how someone could want to ride in the shorts version where you’d have to pull them up and down when you’re sweaty - that sounds like torture at hot shows!
Very valid points!
Where do you pile all your clothes while you are using the porta potty naked to get out of your full body shapeware?
Eeek.
“ * Double-Gusset: Makes bathroom breaks a breeze”
Sounds really awkward.
If you wear the camisole / tanks like HoneyLove the bra is built in, nothing else to wear but your panties under your breeches. It smoothes the midriff area which is what the OP is looking for.
Sure, if you have boobs you’re hoping to minimize
I wear a padded sports bra because I have no boobs to speak of, and that’s not a terribly flattering look either…so this is just an alternative that smooths all the “extra” areas out without eliminating “the girls”!
Some staples for me, that I am pretty certain I learned about here on COTH:
These bras have built in pads, and plenty of compression for me (32D) at the sitting trot
These tops minimize the lumps and stay in place. The material is pretty substantial, but I’m usually just fine showing in them with a technical top and mesh jacket in the summer.
That’s my go to sports bra, too! Perfect for those of us who are not very big. Very supportive. That shapewear looks very reasonable.Thank you for the recommendation.
