Shetland sheepdog (Shelties) as farm/family dog... Any opinions?
So you’re trying to tell me that parents are able to watch their children AND their pets 100% of the time?

Sorry but I don’t think that’s humanly possible.
Do you have kids Pcostx?

If you do, then you know that when it’s a matter of safety, we do take appropriate measures. It can be in the form of an indoor pen for the puppy so it can be left “unsupervised” without access to the kids, or vice versa, for instance.

Kids, even very young ones, understand much more than we credit them for…

Alterness - your little Elsie is just lovely. You have made me want to go through all my pics and post them! So, here ya go:

Emma again. You can really see the double-coat in this one. She loves sitting in shallow pools of water.

Emma with her stuffed toy dog, Raleigh. No, this picture wasn’t posed - she takes him everywhere, even on walks.

Emmas as a puppy. We, to this day, have NO IDEA how she got back here. Nemo was on the other side, looking back at her. She didn’t start off on that side of the gate.

Emma napping under the bed.

I’d show pictures of my male, Austin, but for some weird reason he isn’t nearly as photogenic as Emma. Emma literally cannot take a bad picture.

Aren’t Sheltie pups the cutest things in the world?

They are!

alterness - you may want to edit your post somewhat if you’re trying to stay anonymous, as the photos give away your identity if anybody knows what to look for, I suspect (street signs, etc). Just a thought.

Thanks or the compliment eventer_mi, she’s an amazing dog. Your girl is absolutely adorable, she reminds me a lot of Elsie!

Romany, the one picture with street signs was taken at a horse show quite a ways away and two years ago. I also put a picture of myself up, so those that truly know me will know me. I forgot I was still signed in under my alter, but the only reason I’d want to keep my identity hidden was to keep from outing former clients to the whole horse community. If there’s anything else that you think could give me away, let me know! I made the mistake of not checking my username.

Love love love all the p![](ctures. And no, there is nothing in this entire world cuter than a sheltie puppy. When I went to the breeders for my last puppy, she had some other people there picking up a puppy, so I just went to her living room to wait until she was done. She knew she’d be a while, so she went and got my puppy (who I had bought sight unseen) and plopped my new 8 week old boy in my lap to hold while I waited for them to be done. The adorableness of seeing that sweet darling face and getting those kisses for the first time just brought tears to my eyes.

Hard to believe that angel turned out to be such a monster!!! (just kidding)…
