Shipping Container Run-In Sheds

I do not own a horse that would get up in that.

One of my neighbors purchased a shipping container and transformed it into a horse shed. He stated that there is no need to place anything other than those rubber mats on the floor because the floor is robust enough to not be damaged in the long term. He also said that you should check the quality of the product from where you intend to get the container. I believe it is best to deal with firms who provide the option of renting containers so that we can ask those who have used it for feedback before purchasing it.

These logistics containers are only strong when the original welding is intact. I would not let any living creature near one of these things that’s been all cut up and reattached like this. Anyway, I don’t see any advantage this would have over just framing a new shelter with lumber or pipe and adding metal siding.

Unless it’s a “high-cube” container, most are <9ft inside height-- not tall enough for daily use by horses. Even the high cube ones are <10ft.

Agree a purpose-built run-in sounds safer.
That said, people are using them for housing :flushed:
